Our new paper on how temperature influences the competitive outcomes between bacteria (my first as a postdoc in the Gore Lab!) was just published in Nature Ecology and Evolution. For some insights into the study, check out this ‘behind the paper’ post I wrote for Nature’s blog.

TALK @ THE UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA

I recently had the pleasure of giving a departmental seminar at the Institute for Arctic Biology at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Video of the talk is available on the IAB website here. The talk covers a lot of my work in built environment microbiology, including our forthcoming work on microbial interactions in the hospital environment.

Our recent paper in Microbiome focused on the potential forensic applications of the microbes we harbor on our shoes and personal phones and found that personal effects could be matched to study participants based on microbial similarly. See the links below for some of the coverage the paper received in the popular press.
